Does anyone know what these purple things are? I've seen them in several places. Someone (we assume the Department of Natural Resources)must be doing a study?
I'm going on-line to see if I can find the answer.

I think they are to catch those tent worms for some sort of census on them. That or the emerald ash-borer beetle, I can never remember which.

I never saw one before or an emerald ash-borer beetle for that matter.
Thank you. Now we know. I've seen 4 traps in difference places. I'm sure there are plenty more.
