Jobs..

Michigan's unemployment rate is over 15% so it is always good to hear of new jobs. It great news to hear that a tire recycling plant will hire about 50 people in the Niagara area. Even though Niagara is in Wisconsin, the border community employees many people from Michigan.

The new recycling plant will occupy 10 acres of the 47 acres available in a former paper mill which closed in August of 2007. The city is in the process of negotiating with New Page to buy the rest of that land.

The plant shreds tires and reuses it for everything from power to playground mats. Lets turn in those old tires, they have better uses than lawn ornaments.
